What's your contingency plan? We know how important your data is. If hardware fails, natural disaster strikes, a theft occurs, or a system outage causes you to lose your data, it will be gone forever. Without it, your business could come to a screaming halt: sales records lost, expensive software gone, and employee data unrecoverable. So what can you do to ensure you're not stuck up a river without a paddle?
You can back up your data. Then back it up once more!
The industry standard is the 3-2-1 backup method:
- Create 3 copies of your data.
- Keep copies on 2 types of storage media.
- Store 1 of these copies offsite.
There's no limit to how many copies you can keep. The more, the merrier. Three is the minimum.
Keeping your information on a single device means a single point of failure. Keep at least two copies on separate devices like network-attached drives or an external hard drive.
The offsite copy is critical. Physical threats (theft, fires, floods) can destroy everything on site in seconds. Our Managed Offsite Backup Service is an excellent solution for this layer.
Remember: once your data is gone, there's no getting it back. So back up your backup.
